Boarding – Information on our Boarding Kennels

We have been boarding dogs here at Kilconnel Kennel for over 25 years and are fully licenced. Over the years we have met many lovely dogs that have come to stay with us. We welcome all breeds and make them feel as at home as we can.

All of our boarding kennels have heating facilities but in the winter we do like to see the dogs come in with their own coats for extra warmth.

We may be able to walk your dog/s by prior arrangement but please bear in mind this is not always possible.

We have many returning customers and their dogs treat our kennels as a second home.

Emailing this address kilconnelkennels@hotmail.co.uk for boarding arrangements is the easiest way of contacting us and we endeavour to reply within a few hours. However you may also call us on 01844 353396.

Upon inquiring all customers need to email us a photograph of their dog’s up-to-date vaccination card which MUST include treatment for kennel cough at least 7 days prior to their stay with us. When we have confirmed this with you we will be able to book your dog in should you provide arrival and departure dates and times. Please be aware the latest drop-off/collection time for your dog is 1pm and we advise you bring them earlier than this for drop off, so they have time to get settled and comfortable before the evening. If you arrive after 1pm we may refuse your dog as it can be very disruptive to the afternoon routine.

We ask all customers to fill out the form attached and bring it with you when you drop off your dog. If you do not have access to a printer, please let us know and we can post you a copy of the form. This form does include your veterinarian’s details but please be advised that should your dog have a medical emergency or sickness we would take them to our trusted Vet, Temple End in High Wycombe/Stokenchurch or Hampdens Veterinary Practice in Aylesbury for out of hours emergencies. We ask that you do still provide us with your Vet’s details so we can access all relevant medical history if necessary. All new customers are welcome to come and visit us before booking their dogs in to make sure the kennels are what they are looking for as leaving your dog with someone new can be just as difficult for the owner as it is for the dog. We also ask when possible for new customers to bring their dog for a 24 hour stay trial stay with us before leaving them with us for longer periods of time. This is to ensure that your dog is happy and familiar with us as we would hate for them to feel distressed.

You can pre-arrange with us to have your dog bathed during their stay. However, during busier months such as July and August this may not always be possible. Please check with us for a price. It is helpful to let us know beforehand whether you will be bringing your own food or whether you are happy for them to eat what we have here.

Please note we now take payment upon drop off rather than collection. Be advised that we do not have a card machine so bringing cash with you or a bank transfer are our only payment methods.

Max – Boxer
We got Max as a puppy from Kilconnel Kennels over six years ago. Since then he has returned back for boarding about twice a year. When we pull up to the kennels Max always enthusiastically jumps out of the car and knows exactly where to go. The staff know and interact with him well. I’d be happy to recommend Kilconnel Kennels.

Alfie & Mia

We have used kilconnel kennels for over five years. It has always been a great experience, knowing our dog, Dasher, will be well looked after in a great and safe environment. Everyone at the kennels are always friendly and you can see they genuinely care about every dog there, meaning we are really comfortable trusting the welfare of our dog at Kilconnel boarding kennels. I honestly believe ‘Dasher’ looks forward to staying there! We wouldn’t use anywhere else, I don’t think our dog would let us!

“Contented boarders Corner” they certainly enjoy themselves whenever they are in your care, although it is difficult to actually ask them the excitement they show as we approach the main entrance gives us the feeling that they are really pleased to be going on holiday too!!!!
On our return to collect them they are always in really good health and “whacked out” which goes to show us that they have always had a really fun filled stay, many thanks for the wonderful care you give to them…Amie and Sweep would like to say “woof woof” too!!!!
